The Sacramento Kings have unveiled their new branding successfully linking up a bold modern approach with reference to a former identity.
Their former logo looked dated with it’s late 90’s cartoon style and the Kings were well overdue for a new look. Pair that with the turmoil that the franchise has encountered in the past decade as a bottom feeder in the Western Conference, it’s a good way to indicate to the fans that this is the beginning of a new chapter.
What I’m most impressed by is that the team held off on rushing it out to ride the wave of purple that exploded with the passing of Prince (R.I.P).
I also had a little chuckle to myself when I saved the image and the meta data forced it to save as ‘sackings_logo.’ Very appropriate for a franchise that’s had 6 head coaches since 2012.
